Many newbie like to ask what to buy in the game and what skills need to learn from beginning the game so them can own in late game, but most of the time i strongly disagree play DotA with SAME item and hero built in everygame. The rules below are some simple guidelines from me so you can refers to and have your very own item and hero built.
Hero Built:
1. Learn the skills which can disable or slow and support for killing and ganking are always recommended.
2. Stat built which means learn your stat in beginning of game are recomended when you think you should have more mana and hp for farming and others skills are important in later but not in early game. Such as Luna.
3. Choose the proper skill need to be level up that actually really need to be up in early game. Such as Lina skill 3 are useless in early game, so you should draw it out, and also for example Spirit breaker skills 3, you should only learn only 1 level for it in low level. And also some slow skill, there are same slow rates and duration, so learn 1 level are enough such as cm in early game.
Item Built:
1. Never buy orb effects item duplicately or on a hero which have orb effect for his main skills.
2. Depends on situation to choose which item you should buy. If you a tanker, buy tanker item such as assault, heart, shiva, hood or vanguard. Bloodstone and linken is also recomended when you need for heavy mana.
3. For some short hp hero, but with high DPS, choose to boost your stats and hp with some item such as BKB. In the same time, lothar is also can be considered good for them to increase their survival-bility. After the basic survive item, built up a extreme DPS with item such as Deso, burick, butterfly or mkb.
4. For fast attack rates hero, life steal, maljornir, and also difusal is always a good choice for them, life steal give a good combats for them which allows them to tank alot in the battle which maljornir and diffusal did give a bad time for enemy when you have a good attack rate which supreme fast. Basher is also a good choice for such hero.
5. For Int hero or some killer hero. Dagger or phase boot is the basic item for them to increase their survivability and also increase their killing powers. Since them have super high dps skills, but them have short hp, and most of the times mana comsumption is high, so bloodstones is a good choice for them too. Such as DP and TS.
6. For supporter, you should always spent your money on wards, but when you have extra money, phase boot, and bracer are always good. When you have super extra money, mekam and hex is good enough as a supporter.
7. There are also some special case which such as NA, he have high killing ability, dagon is extremely suitable for him.
8. For AOE caster which need to skill in a very close distance, such as ES, tide and also SF, dagger is super recommended.

Basic Knowledge of Playing DotA

It seems to be helpful for people who just started playing DotA. He might want to consider adding a guide about the basics of DotA (or maybe add a link to such a guide, I´m sure that´s been done before), as his advices won´t help if someone doesn´t know some general things. I really think it might solve some problems people have at the beginning.

Here some little advices by myself to newbies which really don't know much about DotA.
1. Plays more with real human brain instead of AI because humans thinking are always different.
2. Get some advices from friends which have better skills on DotA.
3. Training more on how to control your hero effectively.
In the situation, I found that most of the newbie which just start to play DotA are facing major problems in controling their units. Since their friends might advice them to press Alt to view the hp and press A for last hitting, but by doing this, players will actually have slower decision made which important in DotA. By doing the correct and fast decision, it may help u own in a DotA game. For the newbie and any players, me suggested use the Warkey ( google it yourself )to help you in DotA for advance controlling such as faster item skill accessing and it auto help viewing the hp as well. Another importants issues is the newbies are always hard to find back their hero after clicking others unit. For their knowledge, F1 can fastest access to the hero again. And always try to align the view to center of the hero so you can see the environment clearly near you.
4. Choose suitable opponents which can actually help to improve your skill but not give a pure owning to you.
5. Try thinking how to play instead beg others how to play.
6. Always see replays from E-Sport events from www.mymym.com.

General Opinions: Kelen Dagger vs Lothar`s Edge
A lot of newbie prefer to have a lothar most of the time instead of a dagger after the version change of when hero being hit and dagger will temporary get muted. Newbie will think that hero which have high damage but short hp need lothar a lot for their escape and back stab as well. But in my own opinions, i have a different view with lothar. Lothar not only cannot help them for escaping if them face with pro because dusk or ward will definately get you a dead.
But that not means you should not buy lothar at all.
When you can have lothar?
1. Your team have sufficient disable and stunner for you to survive in late game..
2. Your team have to keep on ganking for get them no money for ward and dusk.
3. What you need is just movement speed and temporary invisible for you to cast your AOE ulti to your enemy. Such as Venom. ( Because Lothar can give Venom damage and attack speed)
4. Pump your HP to prevent feeding.
But if lothar so powerful, why did i need dagger?
1. Dagger can give surprise to others if you a good fog control player.
2. Dagger can prevents of dusk and ward counter since you are not invi ^^
3. Dagger can absolutely help you escape if you good timing such as prevent stun.
4. Dagger used less mana while having a short cool down too.
5. Dagger are suitable for AOE stunner and skiller such as CM, Tiny, Lina which is no need damage a lot. SF is an exception, since he got his skill for damage, but he can also prefer dagger since he need a surprise better than people give you surprise by dusking. But there are also players play for lothar for SF.
6. Feasible escape by using dagger which means you can choose where to blink that actually enemy cannot imagine and think, so you can escape.

Today Tips: Stealthing in the Dark
As I mention in previous chapter, sentry ward can be helpful in make the map highly visible and prevent of gank. But since sentry ward amount are limited by the game system, so there are still alot of places are still covered by the dark fog. Control fog is so important in most of the time, when u gank someone or trying to escape, fog could be your best friend in most of the time. When u behind the fog, no one can even see you unless he is using MapHack. Morning can grant a wider view for most hero except hero like night stalker. During daytime in dota, it would encourage of friendly farming. When night reach, fog become more, visible of hero are small, so which means hero are stealth when gank by the fog.
DotA player can get know what range did the fog covered when he with a lot of experiences. By stand inside the fog. the enemy could not see him while he can see the enemy in front line fighting with our allies. How to ambush from behind while it still covered by fog are important to get a kill. If the hero get know you are here to ambush after you reached from behind, but it already too late for his escape.

Today Tips : "Lane Hero Missing"
Reporting hero missing become so famous in every Malaysia DotA public game, any no reporting hero missing by a lane will immediately get a blame when there are a die on other lanes. Although this is one of the effective way for prevent ganking by enemy, but it actually not the best way. A lot of time, when player go into a better teamwork, signal in game(alt+click) can represents the meaning of hero missing as well.
When DotA pros find that voip chatting application such as teamspeak can highly improve their teamwork by constantly giving commands by commanders and also report hero missing and rune status by saying it out.
But in my personal views, the most effective way to prevent gank and handling the situation when hero missing is depends of experiences. I found that the competitive DotA players are likely no need for all this hero missing reporting. How them do that? The answer will definately the mini map with observer ward.
Orbserver wards can actually grants better views to our allies to see what the situation in the map for now. By keep on checking to the mini map, it can actually helps a lot for the players to make prediction on the things happen next in the game. For example, while player check on mini maps and can see the heroes are going for him, although haven't happen, but the player can actually know if he not run he will die on the spot. It have highly correct situation since it more visible than the heroes missing reporting approach. If hero missing, you can hardly guess which lane he are going, but with wards and mini map, it can actually make the player more happier to farm and can reduce the risk of being gang bang.

Chapter 3 : Timing and DPS calculation for Killing
What is DPS?
DPS is an abbreviation for "Damage Per Second". A term used in DotA Allstars to refer to the amount of damage that a hero or unit inflicts on an enemy per second.
Calculating DPS
In DotA Allstars each unit and hero has a unique DPS that is not shown. DPS must be calculated manually and is different towards each unit/hero for 3 reasons:
Each Hero has unique Damage Reduction and Magic Reduction
Each unit has varying Auras which will affect the attacker's DPS
Each unit has unique Regeneration which will lessen the DPS
The proper formula for calculating DPS is as shown below:D/T = X
Where D = Damage Inflicted, T = Time Spent Attacking, and X = Damage Per SecondThis means that 99 damage inflicted over 3 seconds results in a DPS average of 33. (99/3 = 33)

In DotA, to kill an enemy, you have to deal a high DPS to him while he cannot actually have the enough hp escapes from you. Hero such as nevermore, lina, lion can deal good DPS. Less than second, them can deal a high DPS can actually get you kill.
Instead just comment on DPS, timing is highly related with DPS. Since most kill are happens more then one second. So stun and slow can actually helps to let you give a finishing combo to enemy. With the correct timing on the stun cast, for example 3sec stun + 5sec stun after the 3sec stun finish, it can actually give you 8sec for giving him damage.
But some of the time, DPS calculation will actually overwrite the timing when the skills damages can actually straight give the hero to a dead.
Example: Although Lion and sven have stun, but most of the time when they meet some agi hero or int hero can actually no need wait for stun timing, since they can actually deal a very high DPS to the hero that can finish less than 3 sec.
Related with this, a lot of players like to wait skills for last hit the kills( so he can famous in game ), but this actually not help in the pro games. As i mentioned, DPS is important, we have to concern about how to deal the highest DPS within second. Wait for last hit skills will actually delay the DPS and cause to fail to kill.

Laning is very important in every DotA games, with correct laning abilities, it give a good foundation for players to win in a game. Actually good laning skills is containing a fews of major factors.
1. Hero laning stratergies ( Choose correct heroes to be placed at correct lanes)
2. Harrasment to enemy heroes by ganker and lane control hero.
3. Shared Animal Carrier ready for faster item accessing and potion accessing.
4. Good farming which contains of creeping and denying while also prevent of DIE. (According to rules)
5. Moderate gank are needed in early and middle game.
6. Warding for prevents gank and invicible hero harrasment.
7. TP(town portal) are ready always for helping, ganking and escaping.
